5 Tips to Help You Write Your Wedding Vows
Let’s talk about some tips to help you write your vows. For many, writing vows is one of the most intimidating parts of the wedding planning process. I’ve heard so many people say they can’t write and don’t want to embarrass themselves. With these tips, you will have a great starting point for crafting personal vows that are perfect for you. The best part is that there is no expert writing experience needed! All you need is to show up exactly as you are.
Let’s Talk About Reverse Wedding Colors!
The concept seems so cool to me, especially for those who don’t have a vision of being a traditional bride in white. It would look pretty badass to wear your favorite color and your wedding party in black. Your wedding photos would be unique, that’s for sure. If you decide to forgo a wedding party, wear color and have your guests wear white (unless you get married after Labor Day, of course). There are endless ideas to make this non-tacky and really interesting and different.
Your Body is Wedding Ready Just As It is
As we're heading through January and I have seen the annual influx of diet culture posts and goals, I wanted to take a moment to say that you are enough. Your body is wedding ready just as it is. I'm going to talk about this because there are not enough wedding photographers talking about it.
Congratulations, 2023 Brides & Grooms
Wow! It’s 2023, and it’s your wedding year for some of you! How are you feeling? I know that the pressure might start getting intense. Finalizing things in the upcoming weeks and months might have your head reeling like you’ve made the biggest mistake of your life. I’m going to let you in on a secret; most brides have had feelings of “What the fuck am I doing?!” while planning their wedding days. I just wanted to remind you of a couple of things and offer some pieces of nontraditional advice that I am sure no one else is telling you!
We Are an LGBTQ+ Safe Space
I want every member of the LBGTQ+ community to know we are a safe space for you. We want to celebrate, showcase, and encourage all individuals of all identities. When you see a post written toward heterosexual norms, it is not meant to exclude you. It’s because of the awareness that these traditions are genuinely influenced by outdated expectations of men and women.
Getting Ready Together as a Couple
Raise your hand if you've been told it is "bad luck" for the groom to see the bride before the ceremony. You spend months planning a day together and are expected to have zero communication in the intimate moments leading up to the altar. For some people, that can be incredibly anxiety-inducing. For many couples, future spouses are our place of calm and comfort. They are one of the only people not bringing more chaos than calmness.
Coffee Themed Wedding
We did a lot of things to make our wedding a reflection of us, and I’m going to share the details of how we brought our coffee shop vision to life throughout our entire wedding. Our first date was at Starbucks, so we thought it would be cute to have coffee elements throughout our wedding.
Micro Wedding vs Elopement | What Are The Differences?
The main difference between a micro wedding and an elopement is that a wedding focuses on the guest experience vs. an elopement focuses more on the couple itself. Although micro weddings concentrate more on the couple than a traditional wedding, it is still a planned party for a group of people. With that being said, there are no rules to elopement. You can plan a party as big, small, intimate, or inviting as you want. It is entirely up to what type of experience you want. Taking elements from both types of weddings is okay to create a party that fits your unique vision. In this space, we invite you to break all the rules that don’t apply to you.
