Date Idea: Book a Photoshoot
Hear me out. What if you booked a session with The Daydreamer Diaries as a sweet experience-type date with your significant other? You could do a fun session or an intimate session. My husband booked Katie as my surprise anniversary gift last year, and it’s one of my favorite memories! It’s a nontraditional idea that will be remembered forever.
I would never have thought to book a photo shoot as a date, but now that I’ve done it, I cannot recommend the idea to others enough! When Kyle planned the day for me, we went shopping for cute outfits, and he told me he wanted to take me out to a nice restaurant. It made perfect sense to me! We were dressing to go to Salar in the Oregon District. When the day came around, he had a “present” wrapped and a card for me to open at dinner. I opened the card first, and it simply said, “I love you, smile because you’re on camera,” Katie was hidden in disguise inside the restaurant, capturing photos of us. We continued the photo shoot downtown and had so much fun.
This gift/date is perfect because you’re experiencing time together, captured with authenticity and intimacy. Katie holds space for you to be yourself and captures the magic that makes your relationship special. You get to look back at unique photos of a special day and all about your love with your partner.
There is so much pressure to get the perfect gift, and we forget how valuable experiences are. I look back at my anniversary photos and smile so much at the thought and love put into creating a tangible fun memory. There is something invaluable about being present with our significant others and not letting the pressure of society tells us what our love should look like. It’s not defined by how often we post about our partner on social media or the number of extravagant gifts that are bought. It’s most important to be present and allow space to flourish together. It’s showing our partner that we want to show up for them and create memories together. The most important part about dating our partner is wanting to live a life worth romanticizing with them.
Plus. When you book a session as a date, you get an opportunity to update your wall art! You can use the photos for future gift ideas. Check out our blog post on how to display photos for inspiration on making your house feel like a home.
