When In Milwaukee
Milwaukee was never on my list of places to visit until I had the chance to experience the city’s atmosphere myself.
It really is true, the cheese is great. You really can find a good beer almost anywhere. And you will get a parking ticket if you aren’t cautious of your parking arrangements…oops. I had the chance to visit Milwaukee to document the Mama Tried Motorcycle Show in March and three days was just not enough.
Did you know Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin?
In fact, neither did I, but a huge takeaway from this trip was WEAR COMFORTABLE FOOTWEAR and go explore the city and its architecture. Milwaukee really is incredibly beautiful and there are so many fine details within the buildings and communities you’ll see throughout the city. There’s probably a brewery within walking distance of where you are at any given time. A brewery walk with a bit of sightseeing is a great way to get to see the intimate side of Wisconsin.
If you’re Lactose Intolerant … I’m sorry, but Milwaukee is not the place for you.
I must admit…I do love a good dairy moment. I sampled a wide variety of Milwaukee’s finest cheese curds while I was there and let me tell you, it was worth it. If you love a shameless moment alone with delightfully crisp, golden cheese you have to try them once or several times.
Cheese is love.
Does that mean Milwaukee is love?
I’m not cut out for winter in Milwaukee, but overall I have to give the city credit where credit is due. Milwaukee has something for everyone and is a very friendly place to visit. Say hi to a local, catch a show at The Rave Eagles Club, check out the breweries, and get to know Milwaukee for yourself.
WAIT…Before you go
Do not visit Milwaukee without having a meal at Fuel Cafe
Trust me on this one. Fuel Cafe is located downtown on Fifth Street and is the perfect stop for a bite of brunch and a rad hangout space. Do yourself a favor and order an iced honey cinnamon latte to enjoy while waiting. The Nashville Hot French Toast Brunch is worthy of the finest culinary praises. It’s hot, it’s delicious, and I went back for it a second time before telling Milwaukee “See you next time!”
